The legendary McLaren F1 was ahead of it’s time. Gordon Murray and Peter Stevens were the masterminds behind this revolutionary super car. It’s 6L V12 is capable of producing 618HP. It has a limited top speed of 231mph, but they removed the limiter to achieve the record breaking top speed of over 240mph back in 1998. It was undefeated until 2005 when the Koenigsegg CCR came along.
Almost 20 years later, McLaren produced the P1. Technology has advanced quite a bit in that time frame, so it’s loaded with all sorts of additional features. It’s much easier to drive with all of the electronics in place to assist, so the steering is lighter and there’s no need to remove your hands from the wheel thanks to the paddle shifters. It has a 3.8L Twin-turbocharged V8 engine that produces 903HP!
The P1 definitely has it’s technological advances, but there’s also something to be said for the raw driving experience that you get from the F1. Which car do you like better? Let us know in the comment section below!
