Speaker technology has advanced quite a bit over the years. Speakers have become smaller while still packing a punch. Yet car audio hasn’t changed all that much, but it’s about to.
Having a soundbar mounted to your dashboard wouldn’t make much sense, but there are a few other options that are being implemented into modern cars. For example, Continental has a pending technology that will use an electromagnetic coil to reverberate sound through existing components of the vehicle rather than a speaker cone. A startup company called Redux has been working on creating sound through display units (i.e. the infotainment screen in your car).
